Friday I did ver little. Some reading for school, a nap, that's about it.

Saturday there was the baby shower in the early afternoon, which was... A baby shower. Cool to see people.

Later on was the last Halloween party of the year. Had a good time. "Jekyll's Potion" (my first attempt at creating a new drink) was quite a success. :) Go me!

The one not so cool bit was when I was CLEARLY getting ready to go to sleep some guy who I hadn't met previously, and who was trashed, sat down on the couch by my feet and kept trying to talk to me incoherently. Not. Cool.

ut other than that, I had a great time. Didn't even get any bruises from the major tickle fight with John. (First time we've ever actually hit the floor!)

Yesterday after getting home I did more reading and some laundry.

And now I'm back at work, staying an extra hour to help cover lunch since someone's out. Later, class.

Weekend Recap

Halloween weekend was fun. Friday there was a party in the office. Everyone brought in something. They had a costume contest, a baked goods contest... (I brought a store bought pie, so I didn't enter the latter.) I ate way to much sweets. AND THEN they brought in the pizza. Oy. I stayed an hour late to make up for the hour I lost Thursday.

After work I headed straight down to The Sub to meet up with Bonnie to help with cleaning/prepping/whatever before the
party. I arrive at the house earlier than anticpated and no one is home. I let myself in and call Bonnie. "Where are you?" "A&P" "Ok. I'm in your dining room." "Ok." Hehe.

We unload groceries and go to pick up N and head to the school to see E's Halloween costume parade. The parade was a bit of a clusterf***, because they used too small an area of parking lot, but I got a bunch of pics that I need to upload and send to Missy & Bonnie.

After that we headed back to the Sub where we found people, and I cleaned a table. (Behold the power of Oxy-Clean.) I also had the joy of emptying out the liquor cabinet. Most of the booze was put out. Some of the mixers were... iffy.... so we got rid of those.

Party was fun. Only a handful of costumes, but whatever. Met a couple of new people, saw some old friends... Good times. Finally headed down to the basement bed... I dunno? Late.

Woke up around 9ish. Bonnie made French toast. Yummy. Left around 11 to get home with time to get ready for the wedding.

Saturday, Halloween night, was Sean & Jenn's wedding. (Sean being the guy that lived in our guest room for a while.) Eliot was a groomsman, and the rest of the family were invited guests. The wedding was fine. There was an issue with an ill groomsman, but they got things taken care of. The vows were amusing. The reception was fine, and the food was pretty good.

When I left there, I head back down to the Sub. This time more people were in costume. Hung out for a while, but I was exhausted and passed out relatively early. I also slept somewhat late (especially given the gained hour!) Woke up to find everyone up. Had some more French toast and some coffee. Left around noon maybe?

On the way home I stopped of an upgraded my phone. I finally have the Palm Pre. Yay! I'm still learning all it's quirks, and I think I need to swap the battery, but overall, I love it. Just need to work on ringtones, especially for the alarm.

Speaking of alarms... My new alarm clock arrived! However, Mom's away for the week, so I'm sleeping on the couch. Still going to use the Daddy-Clock™ until Mom returns.

Work and school are good. I saw the chair of my department Monday. I've decided
that in addition to the Web Development certification I'm working on, I'm also going to go for the Forensics & Security cert. WCC offers. (Both programs are 8 classes. 4 of them overlap, so it's only 4 more than I was originally planning.) And within the programs there are classes that prepare me for CompTIA certifiaction exams.

And I think that's about it for now.

I was an hour late to work this morning. I woke up AT 8, whick is the time I should be clocking in. Why did I over sleep? My alarm clock was turned off then I got up. This means that either (a) I forgot to set it, ot (b) I turned it off in my sleep. Knowing me, B seems more likely.

This is not the first time I've over slept like this (though today was by far the worst). I don't know what to do... I try also setting the alarm on my phone (which, granted, I forgot last night) but that has minimal effectiveness. My alarm clock IS across the room, but the room is so small that this is still reachable from the bed. I'm contemplating putting it in the other room, since there is no door between the two, but there is still a wall, and I'm afraid that with a wall between me & the clock I won't hear it.

Anyone have any suggestions? I really do't want to make a habit of being late to work.

Let's see...

School is going well.

Work is.... going.... (Arg.)

OK Cupid doesn't seem to be going anywhere. (So far, I've message one person, and "winked" at another. No responses. Of all the people who have looked at my profile, all but 3 were men, and of the 3 who are women, one's getting testosterone shots... I got one "wink" from a guy who seems less than appealing for oh so many reasons. Yeah. No scary creepiness yet though, so that's a plus.)

Halloween is almost upon us. I have one party tonight with Costume Back-up Plan B ready to go. (Plan A is still under construction but will hopefully be ready by next week.) I think the "prop" I found for tonight's costume is the best part.

The other day I ordered a new pair of Chucks from the website. The classic black & white ones. They came in on Wednesday, and I was wearing them the past two days. And I keep thinking a thought I'd never expect to have in my own head... "I love my new shoes." But I do. I mean, who doesn't love Chucks though?

I feel like there's more I have today, but I have no idea what it is.
